Children and Youth

In addition to our thriving Hebrew School , a sampling of the wide variety of PSJC programming for young people includes Junior Congregation, Mini-Minyan, Tot-Shabbat, festival celebrations, Kadima, PSJC Teen Minyan, and the PSJC Social Action Group for teens and pre-teens.

Junior Congregation (ages 8-12) meets almost every Shabbat September-June, 10:30am. Mini Minyan (ages 5-7) and Tot Shabbat (for younger children) also meets nearly weekly during the school year, beginning at 11:15am; see the Calendar for dates. Mini Minyan and Tot Shabbat are joined into one service over the summer.  See the Calendar for more details.

Family programming , one of our most active committees, organizes Junior Congregation, Mini-Minyan, Tot-Shabbat and special events for the whole community throughout the year.

JEWISH CAMP FAIR INFORMATION- JANUARY 23RD, 2011 12:45PM

Parents: Drop all prior notions of what you think a Jewish Overnight Camp is all about and come meet representatives from a select group of 14 Jewish overnight Summer Camps on Sunday Jan 23rd from 12:45 to 2:45. These camps draw some of their campers from the Fair’s sponsoring congregations, so one of them may be just right for your child also! These camps range from the all around general camp to the newer specialty camps for specific interests like sports or the environment. Websites may tell you the facts, but meeting directors and alumnae will give you a real feel for the camp atmosphere. Sponsored by PSJC, Congregation Beth Elohim, Kane Street, East Midwood, Congregation Mt Sinai, Union Temple, Brooklyn Hts Synagogue and Kolot Chayeinu, the Fair will be held this year at Park Slope Jewish Center. Bring your friends!  Click here for more information.
