PSJC affirms its solidarity with Medinat Israel and its people. We pray for the well-being of those defending it and those who have been taken hostage. We are committed to helping ensure a secure and peaceful future for Israel and its neighbors.
PSJC Teens
There are a number of ways for the teens in our community to get involved. Some are social, some are educational, and some are both! Our youth programming is open to both members and non-members of the PSJC community, so invite your friends! Click or scroll below for details on our youth group events and regional partnerships.
GESHER
PSJC's teen "class" is a combination of socializing and discussion about a variety of current events topics, plus special holiday celebrations and learning. Participants steer the direction of the conversation with the questions they ask and the passions they bring. Dinner is included as part of registration. Email aileen@psjc.org for more information or to register.
Wednesdays, 6:30PM - 8:00PM / Bi-weekly
Tuition: $650 / $900 (non-members)
MADRICHIM TEAM
There are many ways you can be involved as a madrich/a/chol! From helping working one-on-one or with a small group to help with Hebrew skill building, creating Kahoot trivia and other "brain break" games, taking photos and updating the HS blog, and much more, we know that Hebrew School can only work WITH YOU! In addition to your hours "in the classroom", madrichim are encouraged to enroll in Gesher and attend training sessions throughout the year to deepen your own learning and grow your skills in the classroom.
Madrichim can...
-
Earn community service hours
-
Participate in paid fellowship positions
-
Work as assistant teachers

PSJC TEEN SHABBAT
Welcome Shabbat with your friends at PSJC! Take a break from texting, Instagram and busy days, and relax over challah, grape juice, and a tasty meal. We're always looking for hosts for these dinners, so email teens@psjc.org if you have room for a group of teens at your table or on your living room floor for a picnic!
Community Partners
A number of PSJC teens participate in the Brooklyn Chapter of the HaZamir Youth Choir. For more information you can visit their website or email PSJC member, Freddie Brooks. Rehearsals are Sundays, 2:30PM - 4:30PM at Congregation Beth Elohim, 274 Garfield Place.
METNY USY programming is for 9th -12th graders. As a synagogue affiliated with the Conservative Movement, we are a part of a collective of synagogues throughout the NY Metro area, both for adult and teen programming. In order to attend regional events, teens must be paid members of USY ($36 dues) and we can sign you up through the office. Many of the programs for USY Teens at PSJC and with our partners in the neighborhood are open to 8th graders as well.
The Ivry Prozdor High School is the largest supplementary high school program in New York City. Hosted at the Jewish Theological Seminary in Manhattan, the program has courses in Hebrew language, Beit Midrash style learning, and experiential programming. For more information, visit their website.
